The Ministry of Trade (MTI) is mandated to develop policies and programmes that will stimulate domestic, Regional and Global trade, private sector investment facilitation, and industry development. MTI advises Government on trade, Special Economic Zones, Regional and Global Trade Integration, Standards and Quality Infrastructure, SME’s and Private sector development.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry is one of the core Ministries of the Government of Sierra Leone. It is committed to promoting trade. It also focuses on developing industries and private sector growth both locally and internationally.
Lead inclusive growth and development through institutional reforms for effective implementation of policies, strategies and programmes to enhance increased private sector investments, liberation of domestic trade, harmonization of national policies with regional and global initiatives, industrial growth, Sierra Leone’s international competitiveness and economic diversification.
